It's a wowwy

We went to the Republican rally in Owensville, OH on Sunday night. We waited in line for about ever, but it was worth it. Despite the throngs of people and our less-than-early arrival, we got pretty a pretty good spot, except for the inconsiderate parents that kept their kids on their shoulders for the entire rally. Sophie absolutely loved the rally. She was dancing and clapping and cheering and chanting. The people around us thought she was pretty cute. When a John McCain chant broke out, Sophie continued shouting "John McCain John McCain John McCain" well after everyone else was finished. We got to see see a few Candidates like Jean Schmidt (above) and Sarah Palin.

Someone standing next to us (it was pretty packed) gave Sophie a pom-pom type thing that she calls her "scarf". She enjoyed waiving it in the air and screaming. Sophie was very excited to see Sarah and wanted to invite her to dinner, but alas, we didn't get the opportunity.

Over the last couple of days Sophie will randomly break into singing "John McCain John McCain" or "Drill Baby Drill". She went to vote with mommy today and expressed her desire to vote for "John McCain and that little girl".

Well, it is a regretable thing overall, isn't it. Not so much that McCain lost the overall election, though that isn't exactly heartening either. The worst part of the evening, to me, is Sophie didn't get to ask Governor Palin to dinner. And not so much bad for Sophie, but bad for Palin. She'll never know what a great opportunity she missed out on. And she was so close!
