Happy 4th of July!

We had a really fun 4th of July this year, despite all the rain. To start it off, we headed down to Coney Island for their annual Balloon Glow and Fireworks show. The rain was kind of nice, as it wasn't enough to cancel the event, but enough that it kept alot of people away, so it wan't super crowded. This was Sophie's first fireworks show, and though I expected some reaction, she mostly just sat in her stroller, staring at the fireworks unfazed. Surprisingly, she stayed awake until we got home at 11 p.m. The next morning, we got up bright and early and headed over to our church's annual 4th of July picnic. We ate alot of yummy eggs, sausage, muffins, donuts, and juice . It was quite tasty!

We then headed over to the Anderson Township parade. It rained a little, but we still had a great time watching the different floats and groups go by. Sophie also thought it was great that she got a huge bag of candy. After the morning of festivities, we were ready to head on home and take a nap for a little while, before we headed over to some friend's house for desert and a fun little fireworks show (thanks for the pictures Julie!). We had a great time and Sophie loved holding the sparklers and playing with her friends. Although it was after 10 p.m. when we got home, our neighbors were lighting some fireworks, so we headed over to chat with them a bit and watch their last few fireworks. It was another late night, but Sophie stayed awake for the whole thing (she was quite cranky, but awake). I was so relieved last night when she went to bed at a little after 8 and slept until after 7 a.m.(yep, that's really sleeping in for her.) All in all it was a great day with lots of fun things to celebrate my favorite holiday. Hope you all had a great one too!

Oh and by the way I like your haircut! I don't know if it's new or not but it's really cute :)
