Birthday Part 2

For Sophie's birthday, we spent the day at the Children's Museum. It was the first time that we have been there and Sophie had a great time. Although they have a lot of different exhibits and activities for children of all ages, Sophie particularly enjoyed an area that was set up like a little town and had different buildings for all the different things a little town would have-a vetrinarians office, a grocery store, mechanics shop, and a construction site, to name a few. Each of these building had props that Sophie could use to pretend and play with. She had a blast and we had a lot of fun pretending with her! Here are a couple of pictures of Sophie playing.

After the museum, we asked Sophie where she would like to go and eat and she yelled out "McDonalds". I think that this is a very funny thing, because we really don't go to McDonalds frequently at all. We do go out occasionally, but it is rarely McDonalds. In fact, up until about a week before her birthday, we had not gone for a good 5-6 months, but one day while we were driving down the road, Sophie suddenly throws her arms in the air and yells "McDonalds". I hadn't even realized that there was a McDonald's in this particular location and I have no idea where she got the information that McDonalds was a fun place, but now each time we pass a McDonalds, she lets us know and wants to eat there.

That afternoon, Sophie helped me make her cake. Her only request for the kind of cake she would like was "pink", so I decided to do a pink cat... I think it turned out kind of cute...Sophie had alot of fun "helping" me decorate it, as you can see in this first picture.

Great job on the cake Becky! I watched Jeremy make Hyrum a frog cake for his birthday and I decided maybe I would be brave enough to do one next year.
