Another Random post

We actually planted a garden this year, and things are growing! We planted carrots, onions, peas, zucchini, squash, cucumbers, and pumpkins. We'll see what actually produces veggies! Right now, my bet is on the pumpkins. They are getting huge!

We celebrated Pat's 32nd birthday...He's getting soooo old, oh wait I am only 18 months behind him...
Puzzles and other games at home. This is his favorite puzzle.
 Special treats with Daddy.
I've taken on a few more sewing projects... I feel like this sweet little dress turned out great consider my sewing level.
Wearing ourselves out. This boy won't keep his clothes on...so frustrating. I guess it's a good thing that summer is here and it is hot. The other day I picked Evan up at a friends who had been watching him for me and she said " So does Evan like to be naked? I found him without clothes on 2 times. I finally told him he could go without his shirt on." The frustrating thing now is that he has no interest in potty training(and I am really not trying at all), but he also likes to take his diaper off and pees wherever he chooses. I'm kind of tired of the random wet spots on the floor.
I helped my friend Kristi train for the flying pig 10k and I ran it with her. It was a ton of fun. She is moving in a few months and I'm sure going to miss their family!
We had some friends over a few weeks ago for dinner and Pat was in charge of desserts. He did not disappoint. He made a peanut butter cheesecake and a berry cheesecake. Both were delicious! He should probably take over all the cooking around here. Oh wait, he already does ALOT of it! - I'm such a lucky girl.
Sophie had a vocabulary parade at school and she had to dress up like a word. She chose "Observation." So fun!
We finished up our Girls on the Run season last week. I was coaching for a new school, but was able to work with a lot of really neat ladies. This isn't all the girls, we had a total of 12 on the team, but it was such an energetic bunch, it was hard to get them all in the photo at once. I was a running buddy for the little girl in the sunglasses. She did awesome!
More wearing himself out. This boy doesn't nap much anymore, but occasionally he just zonks out and sleeps and sleeps. I think he slept for like 4 hours this afternoon.
We all had dental checkups this month. Glad to report, no cavities, which is great, since we are STILL eating Easter candy. Evan still was not a fan and cried through the whole checkup. But now loves to show off his pearly whites and tells people that he went to the dentist and they cleaned his teeth and he got a prize.  Oh and my favorite part of the trip, they give the kids a token when they finish up that they can redeem for a little prize from a machine. It took Sophie quite awhile to decide on a little monkey (kind of like the one she lost last fall). But Evan knew exactly what he wanted- A princess ring. He got a pretty green  Ariel one that he wore/carried around with him for several days afterward and even woke up in a panic one morning because he couldn't find it....such a funny little boy!
Evan having fun at Sophie's soccer game this afternoon.
 My little Sophie...
Chasing down the ball. She is the one with red shorts. I think she is enjoying soccer more, but she needs to be more aggressive. It was super hot today, but she really played well!
And riding our bikes this evening.... Evan doesn't know how to peddle his other bike yet, so he just rides this big wheeler by propelling it with his feet. I can't keep shoes on the boy, so yes he is barefoot, but I'm pretty sure his feet are so callused now they are like shoes  ;). He loves to grab his bike from the porch, hop on and just ride of the porch, step and all and down into the cul-de-sac. Sophie has a fun time playing out there with him and pushing him around.

Sophie showing off her new trick of riding with one hand...it seems like yesterday, I was learning this.
Oh and randomly here at the bottom: a couple of friends from church organized a half marathon that took place last Saturday. It was super fun. I only ran 10 miles of it, because I had to run off to my GOTR 5k downtown. I feel so blessed to be surrounded by such amazing supportive women! They all did an awesome job!
So that's about it I guess that I remembered to take pictures of.... Sophie only has 6 days of school left. I can't believe she is almost done with kindergarten. She loves, loves, loves to read (she is my girl after all!) and stays up late many nights because she can't put down her latest Junie B. Jones book or fairy book . One night I had to get after her(after I laughed and hugged her because I love her so much and I can totally see where she is coming from) Anyway,  we heard a thump from upstairs about an hour and a half after we had put her to bed. Of course I  ran up to see what was going on and she had seen a bug flying around the big that she was reading. Not only was she still reading, but she had finished a couple chapters of a book, read a whole 'nother one and was a couple chapters into her third book. Good thing that bug was there, or she would have not been able to keep her eyes open at school the next day!  We are also excitedly planning for some fun days at the pool over the next couple of weeks and we are counting down the days until we get to come to visit family next month...
