Thanksgiving Weekend

We had a fun, and non-traditional Thanksgiving this year. Here are some of the things that we did:
  • Drove 5 hours to Cookville, TN.
  • Took care of a sick and throwing up Sophie. (luckily, she felt better by mid-morning on day #2 so that we could go swimming)
  • Met up with the Staleys (Pat's sister and fam) to swim-their hotel pool had a tube slide going into it. Sophie decided that she liked to play in the hot tub.
  • Attended an after Thanksgiving feast at Pat's sister's in-laws house in Crossville.
  • Played Boggle(I won).
  • Drove to Nashville and stayed in a much nicer hotel for night 2.
  • Visited the Opryland Resort Hotel-saw beautiful displays of lights, trees and nativities, as well as an indoor botanical garden and river.
  • More swimming.
  • Visited downtown Nashville and the community that one of my good friends grew up in.
  • Shopped at the huge Opry Mills Mall.
  • Waited 1 1/2 hours to eat at The Rainforest Cafe (luckily we could shop in the mall while we waited.)
  • Had a doctor's appointment.
  • Shopped some more.
  • Attended the Bengals and Ravens game here in Cincinnati.
  • Quietly cheered our team to victory, so as not be heard by the large , vocal, and angry Bengals fans that surrounded us. (Ravens won 34-3. Yeah!)
  • Sat through the entire game, although it was very cold and wet and most of the other -so called fans- had left much earlier. If you look at the picture of the three of us you can see we are surrounded by empty seats-this was taken before the 4th quarter started.
  • Had a great time- we had the perfect Thanksgiving: Family, Food, Football and Travel(okay so this one's optional, but fun).

Sounds like a lot fun and like you were super busy! How did you fit that all in?

How fun to go swimming over Thanksgiving break! Looks like you had fun and glad Sophie got better.
That is very cool that you have been volunteering for that program, I have never heard of it before but I hope if I have a girl that she can do something similar in school one day.
