I keep getting complaints that I haven't been keeping my blog up(it's true, I'm lazy). So here is a pathetic attempt to make up for lost time.
1.Sophie loves to help in the kitchen; she especially likes to help make sweet treats. She and Pat were making some cookies that Sophie chose from a picture in a cookbook and I was on the computer in the other room. Before adding more ingredients to the sugar and butter mixture, Pat came in to talk to me about something. Well, a few minutes later Pat walks back into the kitchen and Sophie was digging into the sugar-butter. Pat asked her what she was doing and Sophie replys: "Daddy in there talking to Mommy, Sophie in here eating sugar." I guess that explains it. -when she says things that are so cute, how can you get mad? BTW: the cookies didn't turn out how they were supposed to...
2. Sophie and I made homeade freezer jam a few weeks ago(inspired by Amy!). It turned out really well. Sophie had a lot of fun eating the strawberries. I've decided I should probably learn some domestic skills at some point.
3. We celebrated Pat's 28th birthday on April 16th. We had a pizza(black olives, pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, green peppers and banana peppers) picnic at the park and then we went mini golfing. They even had a little club for Sophie to use, but she would usually just pick up the ball and put it in the hole. Afterward we came home and I sent Pat on a little scavenger hunt to find his gifts and then he spent the next 3 hours on the phone with family members(which I guess is what happens when you live so far away from family.)
4. I have hit a couple of garage sales recently as well. I found Sophie a wagon that we can go for rides around the neighborhood in and also a few other toys and clothes. I think garage sales are fantastic, but I tend to spend way too much money at them. I need to pace myself a little better, since the garage sale season hasn't really even started yet.
5. Since the weather has turned a little nicer(okay not so much this week), we have been spending a lot of time at parks. Sophie and I will usually go to the park several days a week and have at least 2 picnics( I love picnics, but I think my obsession drives Pat a little crazy!!). Last week, we picked up some pizza for dinner and headed over the Juliff's park. Sophie has gotten alot braver on some of the toys and it always surprises me how much she can do and how strong she is. She learns things so quickly!

So much fun! I agree she is too cute. The wagon looks really nice- I need to start hitting garage sales. The little sailor dress looks cute on her.
I love that Sophie loves to help out in the kitchen and that she has her very own apron.
I haven't been to a garage sale for a long time, but I do love craigslist, I love a good deal on used stuff!
